Community Music Project - Drumshallon Forge Heritage Centre

Over the past few years we have run traditional Irish music sessions for young musicians in our local community centre.  The building was originally a blacksmith's forge and it was developed  into a community centre thanks to the generosity of the Dillon family.

The idea was to create a space where young musicians and their families could gather and play music Irish together in an informal yet structured way.

Thanks to funding from Creative Ireland we ran a number of projects and engaged some of Ireland’s most well respected traditional musicians in the process.  See the video below.

We also produced a tune book of the music, which is available for purchase for €14 (€10 for the book and €4 for P&P) and all proceeds will go to Drumshallon Forge Heritage Centre.

Top tip...!  Have a look through the tune book; there are some lovely tunes in it and we would be delighted to play these for you on your special day!
